Company: Timeless Closets and Cabinetry
Designer: Wendy Scott, MSD Project: Elevated Flex Space Client Request: Repurpose a guest room to also be used for working out. Narrative: The client wanted a space that would work for occasional guests to stay over, but also work full-time for her stretching, yoga, and husband's spin bike. She didn't want the Murphy Bed to look like closet parts, but wood was not an option due to the strong color of her wood floor. In order to give a cabinet feel, we used two different height door panels. The lower panels lined up with the side cabinets to keep the lines of the room consistent. The color is an exact match to Benjamin Moores Hale Navy. The matching doors were done in a 5 piece velvet that also mimicked the look of paint. Glass shelves and blue grasscloth peel-and-stick wallpaper gave a little character, without adding too much heaviness to the cabinet.
